(Rockwall) April 10, 2012 – Dallas Morning News columnist Steve Blow was the speaker for the April 10 luncheon meeting of the Friends of the Rockwall County Library.

Addressing a sold-out room, Blow talked about his love of the written word and the importance of having reading materials in his home when he was growing up.

He got some chuckles when he commented that the family had the King James version of the Holy Bible because they wanted to read the Word just like Jesus said it, and they all read and enjoyed the Reader’s Digest.

He told the audience that The Most Unforgettable Character articles made a deep impression on him and that over the years, he has accumulated his own collection of stories about people who have left lasting impressions on him and his readers.  He shared three of those with the group.

The affable and smiling Blow spent a great deal of his time talking with loyal readers who expressed appreciation for his body of work and often referred to favorite columns.

The non-profit Friends of the Rockwall County Library supplements the county budget and provides additional funding for special programming for teens and children, and sponsors an adult literacy program.
