Texas Health Rockwall earns Health Care Quality Award

Hospital honored at awards celebration May 3 in Austin

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Rockwall has been named a Silver Award recipient from the TMF Health Quality Institute.

The Texas Health Care Quality Improvement Awards recognize hospitals that have demonstrated excellence in health care quality through improved performance on national quality measures.  Hospitals qualify for an award based on a composite scoring system called the Appropriate Care Measure.  These awards acknowledge hospitals for undertaking quality initiatives to improve outcomes related to acute myocardial infarction or AMI, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care.  These clinical areas have been designated as national health care priorities by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and The Joint Commission.

This year a total of 214 hospitals were considered with two Gold awards, 118 Silver and 35 Bronze awards being granted. TMF Health Quality Institute held an awards celebration in Austin on May 3 to honor the recipients.

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Rockwall, recognized with the Gold Seal of Approval by the Joint Commission Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, is the first full-service community hospital in Rockwall.

THPHR offers 50 inpatient beds for acute medical and surgical needs, advanced medical technology and comprehensive services focused on quality patient care and safety close to home.  Texas Health Rockwall is proud to be recognized as one of “Modern Healthcare’s Best Places to Work in Healthcare” and home to several of DFW’s “Great 100 Nurses.”
