(McKinney) May 1, 2012 – The McKinney Performing Arts Center and Town Square Buzz are hosting a watch party as local resident Hollie Cavanagh continues her successful run on American Idol.

The event will be held on Wednesday, May 2, beginning at 7 p.m. at the McKinney Performing Arts Center, 111 N. Tennessee St. Square Burger will provide food and drinks to purchase, and free Wi-Fi is available so fans can cast their votes.

Hollie is currently a top five finalist on American Idol, the hit singing competition show. If she is among the final three competitors, American Idol will visit McKinney to document Hollie’s homecoming as she meets her fans and participates in festivities throughout the city. Seating is limited to the first 427 in the MPAC historic courtroom theater, and doors will open at 6:30 p.m.

“We look forward to partnering with Town Square Buzz to show our support and root for our hometown favorite this Wednesday,” said Ty Lake, Director of McKinney Performing Arts Center. “It makes perfect sense to host the watch party here since Hollie performed multiple times at MPAC by opening for the likes of Taylor Hicks and Lukas Nelson.”

Voting will open at the end of the show on Wednesday. There are three ways to vote for the next American Idol: toll-free voting by the numbers provided on the show, AT&T text voting, and online voting at www.AmericanIdol.com. The results will be broadcast on FOX Thursday at 7 p.m.
