The 1700-mile relay from West Point to Dallas fosters awareness and restores reverence to the true meaning of Memorial Day, uniting community members in a collective effort to remember and celebrate our American heroes.

Veteran and former SEAL Clint Bruce founded Carry the Load in 2011 with a one-day walking event in Dallas. He wanted to give the community a way to share in honoring America’s military heroes and to carry the load of the men and women who gave America their last full measure of service.

Funds raised during the cross-country walk and through sponsorships are distributed to existing nonprofits already supporting military families: Heroes on the Water, Assist the Officer Foundation, Tip of the Spear, Friends of Dallas Firefighting, the Snowball Express, the Yellow Ribbon Fund, and the RWB Team.
