Finding places to go in DFW just got easier
(Frisco) June 23, 2012 – AroundTownKids.com, an online resource for parents in the DFW area, is excited to announce the release the newest version of their app which lists Fun Places to go in the metroplex.
This App is the only one of its kind and is exclusive to AroundTownKids. With the tap of a finger this latest version enables parents to find fun and interesting places to go in DFW – everything from bowling alleys to museums to parks. The app is simple to use and sorted for easy perusing listing types of places by category.
The AroundTownKids App is free for download to an iPhone or iPad via the App store or online at aroundtownkidsfrisco.com/DFWThingsToDoApp.htm. If the app has already been downloaded for summer camps, simply click the update button on the app icon on your device to get the latest version.
“We’re all creatures of habit and tend to frequent the same places over and over again. Sometimes you might want to try out a new fun place to go or take visiting guests. Our updated app will allow you to find everything from the quirky (did you know Plano has a Cockroach Museum?) to the mundane such as local parks,” said Catherine Cates, founder, owner and editor of the popular parenting site.
“Families are so mobile, and they know that AroundTownKids.com is the best place for them to find updated info on kids’ events, summer camps, birthday parties, childcare and more,” said Catherine Cates. “This app brings us to the forefront of mobile marketing technology, allowing us to stay convenient and up-to-date for parents, giving them access to information at the tap of a finger. This latest version comes just in time for summer when kids are home and need things to do,” said Cates.
The app is not only free, but also can save parents money: coupons for fun places around the metroplex are found right there on the app. Forgot to print the coupon? No worries – just show the coupon from your AroundTownKids.com app!
The AroundTownKids.com app allows parents to:

Parents can simply tap on the number listed there to call, tap on the address to map the location, tap to visit the website, and look for an icon on the app indicating that the venue offers a coupon.
“AroundTownKids has always been on the cutting edge of technology starting with the birth of our website 8 years ago before any similar websites existed. We’re staying ahead of the technology curve once again by bringing parents the latest technology that no other media outlet like us has. We are thrilled to offer parents another easy time-saver and what parent doesn’t need more time?” said Cates, who is a busy on-the-go parent and “mompreneur.”
AroundTownKids.com was founded in 2004 as DFW’s original kids’ event calendar and online parent resource guide. The site offers a weekly e-newsletter, coupons, monthly contests including free birthday parties, event listings in Collin County and across DFW, reviews of local businesses, events, and family-friendly locales, and much more. Staffed by a team of local mom specialists, AroundTownKids.com has quickly become the “go-to” site for busy parents in the area.
