Electric adventure, weapons presentation at Rockwall library

Contact Science Exhibit

The exciting interactive Contact Science exhibit is at the Rockwall County Library.  Our second explorative unit is called Electric Adventures.  What’s the difference between AC and DC circuits? What do resistors, capacitors, diodes, motors and transformers do? What is an oscilloscope and what does it do? Come and tinker with all these components and get the electricity moving.

While the exhibit is primarily for children in grades 3-6, younger and older kids and adults may enjoy exploring it as well.  Electric Adventures will be at the Rockwall County Library through the end of the year and in 2013 we will have Optical Adventures.  This exhibit is brought to us in collaboration with the University of Texas at Dallas.

Texas Weapons Law Presentation

Rockwall County District Attorney Kenda Culpepper will make a free presentation on Texas Weapons Law in the Rockwall County Library large meeting room from 6:30-7:30 pm on Thursday, July 19.

Culpepper will educate the public on the difference between legal, illegal, and prohibited weapons and when one can carry a legal weapon. She will also distribute a free book on weapons law and answer questions from the audience.

The library will be closed Wednesday, July 4 for Independence Day.
