(Rockwall) June 18, 2012 – Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Rockwall held a ground breaking June 14 on their new 16,600 square foot facility in North Rockwall. The facility which will house a family practice physician, emergency room, diagnostic and laboratory resources expects to open, in stages, beginning October 2012.
Cindy Paris, hospital president, states, “We have seen a large growth in patients coming from the north Rockwall area and the surrounding northern communities. We knew that we needed to evaluate how we were serving those patients and determine if we could do more. After extensive discussions and planning we devised a plan that we are confident will provide the high quality care expected and still keep our patients close to home, where they want to be.”
The first phase will consist of a family practice physician which is much needed in the rapidly growing area. Dhara Patel, M.D., a Texas Health Physician Group doctor, is scheduled to begin seeing patients this fall.
Anticipated to be completed in the spring of 2013, the full-service hospital emergency room will be open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week providing all the capabilities of the South Rockwall campus. Patients who need to be hospitalized will be transferred via ambulance directly to Texas Health Rockwall. Should a patient need specialized care, air transport can be arranged directly from the new emergency facility.
Texas Health Rockwall is dedicated to providing the same excellent standard of care at this new facility as patients have come to expect and appreciate at the hospital. “We have been blessed that the people of this community have trusted us with their health and the health of their loved ones.” says Dr. Sam Crowley, Emergency Room Medical Director. “This project is the next important step to realizing our goal of providing the highest quality of care to the growing population of Rockwall. This will be a full functioning ER that will mirror our services at the main campus. The North Rockwall Emergency Department pairs the continued growth of our community with our belief that people need access to excellent and complete healthcare close to home.”
Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Rockwall, recognized with the Gold Seal of Approval by the Joint Commission Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, is the first full-service community hospital in Rockwall.
THPHR offers 50 inpatient beds for acute medical and surgical needs, advanced medical technology and comprehensive services focused on quality patient care and safety close to home. Texas Health Rockwall is proud to be recognized as one of Modern Healthcare’s “Best Places to Work in Healthcare”, Becker’s Hospital Review’s “Great Places to Work in Healthcare”, a silver award recipient of the TMF Health Quality Institute and home to several of DFW’s “Great 100 Nurses”.
