Bowl of Heath’s new water tower goes up

(Heath) July 2, 2012 – The bowl of the City of Heath’s new water tower was elevated Friday, June 29.  The 88-foot diameter structure weighs 306,000 pounds empty and will hold 1.5 million gallons of water when full.

“The construction of the water tower is necessary to ensure a safe and secure water supply for the citizens of Heath,” said Mayor Lorne Liechty (right). “The tower doubles the City’s storage capacity and enables us to meet the daily usage and fire protection needs of a growing community.”

The anticipated completion date of the project is Fall 2012.

Also pictured with Mayor Liechty in the photo above are City Engineer and Public Works Director Randel Dobbs (left) and Councilmember Bob Hille.

Rockwall-Heath High School's Mighty Hawk and Big "H" now soar above the City of Heath.
