Local ladies over 60 vie for title of Ms Texas Senior America

Ms. Texas Senior America Celebrates ‘Sizzling’ Seniors at Pageant in Frisco

(Frisco) July 31, 2012 – Just because you’re in your 60’s, doesn’t mean your days of competing in pageants is over.  On Saturday, August 11 at 1 p.m. inside the Embassy Suites Hotel Frisco Conference Center & Spa located at 7600 John Q. Hammons Drive, Frisco, there will be 20 ladies vying for the title of Ms. Texas Senior America 2012. Event is open to the public with a ticket.

“The Ms. Texas Senior America Pageant isn’t a beauty pageant,” said Mary Frances Hansen, Pageant Coordinator. “Our pageant salutes all senior women. We champion healthy aging, wellness and mental well-being. It’s more than a crown and a banner. It’s about redefining senior women in the 21st century.”

Frisco’s own Debbie Carroll-Boyce captured both the 2011 Ms. Texas Senior America and the 2011 Ms. Senior America titles.  Debbie will perform a singing and dancing routine at the Frisco pageant and assist with crowning the 2012 winner.

The 2012 Ms. Texas Senior America Queen will compete for the title of Ms. Senior America as she represents Texas in Atlantic City, New Jersey October 7-12.

This is not a beauty pageant, but an event that represents the “positive image of aging.” Our pageant salutes all senior women. Our goal is to enrich and empower the lives of all seniors and promote the senior woman in all her glory. These ladies have reached the “Age of Elegance” and are the foundation of America, our most valuable treasure. Our pageant champion’s healthy aging, wellness, and mental well-being. Our contestants exemplify the “positive image of aging.” We are re-defining the senior woman. We honor all senior women with our pageant, giving the contestants a platform to demonstrate their dignity, maturity, inner beauty and talents.
