Rockwall resident in national photo contest

When her foster dog Niko opted to spend his afternoon on a Kuranda dog bed, Rockwall resident Anne Haddox saw an opportunity. She snapped a few photos of the 10-week-old puppy as he rested comfortably outside. Now one of those photos has Niko vying for Dog of the Month in a national contest.Kuranda sponsors a monthly photo contest to benefit animal shelters and pet rescues. Anne’s photo of Niko is one of four chosen by Kuranda to compete for the July prize.

If Niko’s photo wins, Kuranda will donate five dog beds to the Royse City animal shelter. And the local nonprofit Rockwall Pets will match the donation. That means Niko’s photo could be worth ten beds for Royse City shelter dogs.

The photo with the most online votes wins the monthly contest. Votes are accepted once every 24 hours at the Kuranda Dog of the Month site. The voting for Niko’s photo continues until July 31.

Congratulations to Anne and Niko for being nominated for Dog of the Month.
