Heart of Heath 5k run/walk supports Heath parks and trails

(Heath) August 26, 2012 – The City of Heath Special Events Board presented $6,634 raised from the Annual Heart of Heath 5k Run/Walk on April 4 during the City of Heath Council meeting held August 21. The proceeds of this community event benefit Heath’s parks and trails.

Participating in the presentation (from left) were board members Joel Palin; Mary Luxton; Mayor Lorne Liechty who accepted the contribution and a commemorative Heart of Heath shirt on behalf of the City; Gayle Kuhrt (Chairman); Mike Rask; Harry Heinkele; Robyn Abramczyk; Carolyn Walthers; and Eliana McGrath.

The Special Events Board followed up the successful Heart of Heath 5k Run/Walk with an exciting Annual Heath Independence Day Parade and Popsicles “at the ballpark” on July 4 that proceeded a special ceremony honoring the 2012 State 4-A Heath Hawks Baseball Championship team.

The Board is now working on the Annual Holiday in the Park, scheduled for Friday, November 30 at 7 p.m. in Towne Center Park. Mark your calendars to kick off the holiday season enjoying the sights and sounds of Christmas with your Heath friends and neighbors.
