Blood drive at First Christian Church Rockwall

(Rockwall) September 26, 2012 – The Carter BloodCare mobile unit will be in the parking lot of First Christian Church Rockwall from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, October 7.

More than four million Americans would die each year, if not for blood donors. In our area alone, more than 800 people a day must donate blood in order to maintain our blood supply. Blood donors save lives. It’s that simple and that important.

Donors must be at least 17 years of age, in good general health, and weigh at least 110 pounds. There is no upper age limit. Please bring a photo ID with you. Eat a low-fat meal within four hours before giving. Drink lots of water or juice before and after donating. You may give blood after allergy shots, flu shots, hepatitis A and tetanus shots. Avoid strenuous activity for 12 hours after donating.
