See cowgirls compete in events like barrel racing, ranch sorting, and ‘cow racing’
September 30, 2012 – Spectators are welcome as more than 70 cowgirls from all over Texas and surrounding states compete for buckles, cash, awards and bragging rights at the Sixth Annual Cowgirl Roundup on October 6 and 7 at Bar S Arena in Royse City.
Events include teams of four cowgirls herding designated cattle from a herd into a pen, barrel racing, herding designated cattle into a trailer as would be done on a working ranch, ranch sorting – one of the most popular horse- related family sports available, ride your horse race and the most fun event–ride a cow race, where four cowgirls take a cow from one end of the arena to the other and one must be astride at the finish line.
Spectators are admitted at no charge. The Rockwall County Rockin’ Riders 4H Club will furnish concessions as a club fundraiser.
