(Rockwall ISD) October 29, 2012 – Mayor David Sweet and Athletic Director Scott Smith spoke to the fathers of Nebbie Williams Elementary students during Nebbie’s “Dads Rock” event hosted by the PTA on October 3.
Coach Smith gave an inspirational speech about coaching your child to great character. He encouraged fathers to stay active in their children’s lives by encouraging them through life’s circumstances, both successes and failures.
“To instill great personal character in your children’s lives, you must: Be Real. Be True. Be Who You Are. Always Tell the Truth and Love Unconditionally.”
Mayor Sweet also spoke on being a father of character and praised the young athletes in attendance from Rockwall High School for being role models to fellow students. Finally, Mayor Sweet presented the Key to the City to Coach Smith for his contribution to our schools and his dedication to students.
