Eleven RHS Band students selected for 9th grade All-Region

(Rockwall ISD – November 16, 2012) Texas Music Education Association 9th Grade All-Region Band auditions were held Saturday, November 10, for Region 3.

Eleven Rockwall High Band students were selected for the 9th Grade All-Region Band. They are (from top left) Christina Pinkerton, flute; Kai Robinson, French horn; Forrest Croom, French horn alternate; Marina Conner, French horn alternate; Haley Ray, flute; (bottom left) Nathan Mathura, trumpet; Cody S., trumpet; Noah House, tuba alternate; and Kyle Ziegler, bass clarinet. Not pictured: Noahie Valk and Wyatt Wilson, tenor sax.

These students will participate in a two-day band clinic followed by a 7 p.m. concert on January 18, 2013 at Forney High School. This concert will include 9th grade and high school All Region Bands. The public is invited to attend.

This Saturday All Region Jazz Concert

This Saturday, November 17 at 7 p.m. Texas Music Education Association’s Region 3 Jazz Coordinator, Kara Wallace will host the All Region Jazz Concert at the Rockwall Performing Arts Center. She is also an assistant director of bands at Rockwall High School. Fellow Rockwall High School Band members Kaan Toy, Jonathan Hobbs and Evan Cedor will be featured musicians. The concert is free and open to the public.
