Old Town Holiday Market in downtown Rockwall Dec 1

(November 12, 2012) There’s no place like home for the holidays and no place like Downtown Rockwall on Saturday, December 1 when the distinctive Old Town Holiday Market and the annual Kiwanis Christmas Parade will wrap you in the extraordinary small town spirit of the season.

Joining the festivities, Downtown Rockwall shops will host special treats that day as visitors enjoy holiday music and warm beverages while finding the perfect gifts for the special people on their lists. These unique retail shop owners open their doors and their hearts to welcome you. It’s a wonderful way to catch the holiday spirit. No matter how old you are, Downtown Rockwall never loses its magic.

Old Town Holiday Market vendors will offer an eclectic array of gifts for everyone’s holiday shopping needs. You will find gingerbread houses, soy candle, vintage birdhouse, clothing, soaps, canned preserves and so much more.

And who doesn’t love a parade – especially when Santa is involved? The 43rd Annual Christmas Parade starts its journey through downtown at 9 a.m. from Caruth St. south on Goliad Street to the Downtown Square. Sponsored by the City of Rockwall, theme of this year’s parade is Through the Eyes of a Child. This special hometown gathering is a Rockwall holiday tradition the whole family will enjoy.

As an added bonus, Santa’s Workshop on San Jacinto will be open for the kids.

The Holiday Market is open from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. – but you can keep on shopping downtown’s distinctive retail shops and enjoying the eclectic mix of great restaurants all day long!
