Texas Regional Medical Center collecting gift cards for seniors

(Sunnyvale – November 26, 2012) In an effort to make the holiday season merrier for some of North Texas’ older residents, Texas Regional Medical Center at Sunnyvale is joining forces with Mesquite-based nonprofit Sharing Life Community Outreach and radio station KLUV (98.7 FM) to host Sharing Life With LUV. The campaign will collect gift cards to purchase items for seniors in the community.

Gift-card collections are scheduled as follows:

• 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 1, at Albertsons, 8505 Lakeview Pkwy. in Rowlett

• 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 8, at Albertsons, 1500 S. Belt Line Road, in Mesquite.

“Our goal is to obtain 300 or more gift cards before Dec. 14,” said Darby Chalko, TRMC-Sunnyvale’s interim director of business development. “We would like to receive enough to purchase $25 in gifts for each recipient.

“This is Texas Regional Medical Center at Sunnyvale’s way of giving back to the Mesquite/Sunnyvale community for all the support it’s shown the hospital in the last few years.”

Those wishing to donate also may go to TRMC-Sunnyvale’s website, TexasRegionalMedicalCenter.com, to contribute money.

Donations also will be accepted at SharingLifeOutreach.org.
