Congressman Ralph Hall was in attendance as well.  Colonel Dawn M. Ferrell from the 136th Airlift Wing located at the Naval Air Station Fort Worth Joint Reserve spoke with the students on the importance of veterans as ordinary people and extraordinary citizens of the United States.

In addition, students shared essays and poetry to describe why we celebrate veterans.  The ceremony culminated with a heartfelt playing of TAPS by a UMS band student.
