Youth Advisory Council hosts Helping Hands food drive

(Rockwall ISD – November 16, 2012) Grace Hartman’s Youth Advisory Council organized a food drive to benefit Helping Hands.

Child Nutrition Manager, Vickie Dorgelo, PE Coach, Elizabeth Trowbridge, Shawn Clements, Maddie Demien, Kaitlyn Anderson, Lauren Rohrig load food onto Helping Hands truck with Mr. Packard.

YAC is made up of students from 5th and 6th grades and they participate by giving  input on nutrition for the Hartman campus. The students went on the school’s daily news program to inform students of the needs of the Helping Hands Food pantry and ask them to donate to the project.

Food was collected for a week as the campus learned about hunger and feeding those less fortunate. The Food Drive is part of Hartman’s Healthy Zone School In Training project.
