Community input sought in Garland ISD superintendent search

Community forum Monday, Dec 10

(Garland ISD – December 1, 2012) Garland ISD’s Board of Trustees is seeking public input regarding the district’s superintendent search. A Community Forum will be held Monday, Dec. 10 from 7-9 p.m. at the Curtis Culwell Center. All are invited to attend.

A short online survey is also open to students, staff, parents, business leaders and community members through Dec. 12. Questions will assist Trustees in determining the desirable qualities and characteristics of a new superintendent.

“We want all of our constituents throughout the tri-cities of Garland, Rowlett and Sachse to know their opinions matter,” said Linda Griffin, school board president. “This district will move forward in selecting the best replacement for Dr. Culwell with the public’s wishes in mind.”

Curtis Culwell announced his retirement from GISD in August, after serving 14 years as superintendent. He is set to retire next month.
