(ROCKWALL-December 27, 2012) Rockwall Police Sgt. Jeff Welch and Sherry Hamm, Director of Assistance and Referral for Helping Hands, stand beside toys that were collected for the Annual Helping Hands Toy Drive.
The toys were collected during the 1st Annual Santa Snow Fight/COPs for Kids Golf Tournament that benefited the Rockwall County nonprofit crisis agency.
The tournament was a joint effort between the Rockwall Police Department Community Services Unit (COPS for Kids) and the Rockwall Golf & Athletic Club.
In 2011 Helping Hands provided toys for 1,229 children from 495 different families in need, and their goal was to continue to provide at least three new toys for each child or gift cards for teenagers this year.
