Wylie East Sapphires march in Children’s Holiday Parade, take second place in Wylie Christmas parade

Spirit-filled weekend includes Lakewood Theater performance benefiting child cancer patients

(December 3, 2012) The Wylie East Sapphires Drill Team marched in the nationally televised Children’s Holiday Parade in downtown Dallas Saturday, December 1, and then headed into downtown Wylie for their hometown lighted Christmas parade – where the Sapphires parade float took second place!

“Prop Pops” who volunteered their time and labor to create the award-winning float include Sapphire Dads Ron Freeman, Randy Duval, Billy Cobb, Mark Muzillo, Rory Ragsdale, Steve Jones and Terry Wharton.

On Sunday, December 2, the Wylie East Sapphires performed in a benefit dance event called “Kids 4 Kids United We Dance” at the Lakewood Theater in Dallas. All proceeds from the show benefit children hospitalized with cancer at Scottish Rite and Children’s Medical Center.
