(ROCKWALL ISD-January 16, 2013) PTA sponsors a Reflections program for students throughout the state of Texas. Entries can be in several categories ranging from Literature to Visual Arts. Grace Hartman Elementary is proud to announce three of its students were recognized as winners on the District Level.

Fifth grade student, Julia Keiser was recognized at the Intermediate Level in Literature for a poem she submitted. Fourth grader, MeKinna Knight, received recognition for her photography entry at the Intermediate Level. Melissa Wilcox, a second grader, received recognition for a picture she drew and entered in the Visual Arts Primary Level of the competition.

Fourth grade student, Taylor Hughes’s Reflections entry, “I’m Stepping to The Top”, a musical composition, has been advanced to state-level judging. This is a wonderful achievement as nearly 60,000 students participate in the program annually and less than 3% of those advances to Texas PTA. Judging on the state level will take place later in the year.
