(January 22, 2013) Employees of Richardson-based Inspire Financial Group recently delivered bins and crates overflowing with groceries to Minnie’s Food Pantry.
The food items were collected during the company’s Christmas party – a perfect time for giving and something that Inspire Financial employees look forward to doing each year.
Minnie’s Food Pantry is one of the largest pantries in Collin County and is a proud member of the North Texas Food Bank and GuideStar. They serve low income families as long as they meet the TEXCAP guidelines, regardless of race, color, or religion.
Minnie’s Food Pantry was founded by Cheryl “Action” Jackson to honor her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing, who currently lives in Plano.
While at Minnie’s, Inspire Financial employees met the founder and the Operations Director.
“They were delighted with the donation and loved the story of how we have made this a holiday tradition,” said Margaret O’Connor, Inspire Financial Group’s Operations Director. “They confirmed that January donations are usually quite light, and so our timing is good, too! It was fun and uplifting to be there and the various volunteers were all so enthusiastic and cheerful.”
