Side Street Strutters take the stage Feb 12
(ROCKWALL-January 22, 2013) After a successful opening featuring the One O’Clock Lab Band from UNT, Rockwall MusicFest is looking forward to presenting the second show in its 2012-13 Entertainment Series.
The Side Street Strutters will take the stage at 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 12, offering a one-of-a-kind musical experience that includes tap dancing, colorful costumes, breathtaking vocals and musicianship.
“You no longer have to drive to Dallas to hear music that moves you, or go to Richardson, Plano or Irving to enjoy top-notch entertainment,” said Ruth Peck, MusicFest co-founder. “We’ve taken another step forward in bringing the best of entertainment to our area.”
On Monday, March 18, comedian Robert Post will bring his one-man variety show to town. His act is inspired by his Italian grandmother (who sang at danced at nearly every family occasion, including funerals) – and by Vaudeville, juggling, and specialty acts featured on the Ed Sullivan Show.
“There aren’t enough words to describe how amazing Robert is,” Peck said. “He’s brilliant, crazy, funny – phenomenal! You may have seen him on the Today Show; now you can experience his show in person.”
Peck is also a big fan of 42Five, “an instrumental band with no instruments.” The award-winning a capella quintet closes out the Entertainment Series on Thursday, May 9.
The Side Street Strutters and Robert Post will be featured at the Performing Arts Center at Utley, a state-of-the art facility located at 1201 T.L. Townsend Drive in Rockwall. 42Five takes the stage at the Rockwall-Heath High School Performing Arts Center, 801 Laurence Drive in Heath.
Tickets are available at RockwallMusicFest.com or by calling 972-800-9841. Single tickets are $25 each, available 30 days before each performance.
