Throwaway Ponies Adoption Spotlight
Meet Miss Melody. She is a four-year old paint filly. She is just starting her training at Throwaway Ponies, and has only been ridden a couple of times.
Melody is very sweet – ready and willing to learn. She has been well cared for, but her owner could no longer afford her feed.
Throwaway Ponies is a nonprofit horse rescue and therapeutic riding facility located at 2368 E. FM 552 in Rockwall, just two miles east of Highway 205. It is an all volunteer organization.
They currently have 70 horses, mules and donkeys – most of whom are ready and available for adoption. There are companion-only horses, horses needing to be trained, and some ready for you to ride into the sunset.
Twice a month, Blue Ribbon News features adoptable horses like Melody from Throwaway Ponies.
