Puppet Show for adults to benefit Friends of Library

Mimi takes a cruise on the Love Boat

(ROCKWALL – February 4, 2013) Mimi, one of our town’s feisty senior citizens, is hedging her bet this Valentine’s Day.  In case her considerable attributes are (again) overlooked by eligible elderly swains she has decided to try computer dating.  She also booked a cruise on the Love Boat.

Mimi and her French maid Babette will be back home in mid- March and she knows she will have a lot to tell.  She is inviting the public to a special meeting at 7 pm Friday, March 22 in the Community Room of the Rockwall County Library where they can hear the full story about her adventures.

Mimi and Babette are two of the many characters created by puppeteer Sandra McLean.  McLean has an extensive repertoire and is a featured performer for the Children’s Saturday Programs at Rockwall’s Original Pumpkin Patch.  She is a member and officer of Lone Star Puppet Guild and provides workshops for librarians and teachers in the Dallas area.

This fundraiser will benefit Friends of the Rockwall County Library, an organization that works to promote the interest and welfare of the Rockwall County Library.

Admission is $20, seating is limited, and reservations are suggested.  Prepaid reservations may be made at the February 12 Friends meeting.  Contact Leigh Plagens, 972-771-8976 or .
