‘Wax Museum’ at Hartman Elementary celebrates Texas history

Rockwall’s own, Senator Ralph Hall, was presented by Aidan Rice.

ROCKWALL ISD-February 16, 2013) Fourth grade students at Grace Hartman Elementary presented a Wax Museum of people who have had an influence on Texas.

Kailyn Gershon represented Sally Ride, an astronaut, during the Wax Museum.

After researching their chosen person, they wrote a report and memorized a speech using the information they had gathered. The students created a poster displaying the important facts on their chosen person and then dressed to represent the person.

Caden Williams gives a demonstration of Robert E. Lee, to Kindergarten students touring the Wax Museum.

The activity culminated with the students presenting their person to other Hartman students, parents and visitors in the gym. Each student wore a dot on their hand.  Visitors walked around the room, pressing the dot, and the person came to life as the students recited the information they had learned.
