Inspire Financial Group hops into service

Employees collect candy, donate Easter baskets to Community Partners of Dallas

(April 1, 2013) Employees of Richardson-based Inspire Financial Group recently hosted an Easter Basket Drive. They donated dozens of beautifully decorated Easter baskets – overflowing with candy and other special treats – to Community Partners of Dallas.

Each year, the Community Partners of Dallas’ goal is to serve over 1,500 abused and neglected children by providing them with the joy of having a special Easter Basket made just for them. Case workers picked up the baskets prior to Easter, so they could hand-pick baskets that best fit the personality of the children they work with.

“We learned a lot about Community Partners of Dallas and enjoyed a tour of their facility. It includes a Rainbow Room that holds emergency items for children in care of CPS, and a 6,000 sq. foot air-conditioned warehouse where all of the donations are catalogued and stored, and where volunteers assemble,” said Amber Griggs, Marketing Manager for Inspire Financial Group.

Community Partners of Dallas was established in 1989 by a committed group of Dallas County individuals. Initially the purpose was to determine how the community could support Child Protective Services. Over time, the mission of Community Partners was refined and became: to ensure safety, restore dignity and inspire hope for the abused and neglected children served by Dallas County Protective Services.

This is a unique mission in that there is no other nonprofit agency in the Dallas County area that meets this specific need.

Community Partners of Dallas served more than 20,000 children last year through five unique programs:

  • Rainbow Room, an emergency resource center providing critically-needed items for children in the care of CPS;
  • Kids in Crisis, provides funds for children’s clothing, transportation, therapy, enrichment activities, housing and medical expenses;
  • The Heart Program, an internationally-recognized program that provides therapeutic group treatment to victims of sexual-abuse and their non-offending family members;
  • Caseworker Appreciation, events that are held to show appreciation and gratitude to caseworkers; and
  • StoryLine, (214) 446-2222, a phone line that children can call 24 hours a day to hear a story.

As a result of its broad-based community support, Community Partners of Dallas was named the Outstanding Volunteer Organization of the Year by the Volunteer Center in Dallas. In addition, Governors Bush and Richards appointed two of our founding members to the Board of Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services. Community Partners of Dallas’ programs have been replicated across the state, and Rainbow Rooms and Adopt-A-Caseworker programs currently exist in more than 135 cities in Texas.
