(ROCKWALL-April 6, 2013) This canvas art piece is one of several impressive works by North Texas photographer Jack Palmer that will be on display Friday, April 12 at K.E. Cellars, 301 N. San Jacinto in Rockwall.
The Jack Palmer Canvas Art Photography Exhibit opens at 6 p.m.
Palmer has always loved taking pictures of his surroundings: places, objects and people. Growing up close to nature made him especially appreciate its beauty and versatility in ever-changing life cycle – hence his profound interest in landscape, travel and scenic photography.
He is also passionate about capturing various aspects of the world around us that are gradually becoming things of the past: old structures, buildings, cars, tools, etc.
His regard for history and tradition urges him to preserve the memories of them by using his camera as a medium; he wants his pictures to tell stories and to provoke a reflection on transience of life.
Many of those caught-on-camera objects are available for sale as art pieces; some of them – as black-and-white images.
His main business focus includes architectural, commercial, landscaping, event and corporate photography while he also provides portrait services for families, children, and high school seniors.
“In recent years my life-long love of photography has also became my profession. Having served people in another business for over 30 years, this has became a joyful way of promoting others’ businesses and personal interest,” said Palmer.
Bring family and friends to K.E. Cellars this Friday to meet the photographer in person and enjoy the viewing.
