Meet Sassy the pony. She’s about 18 years old. She still needs a little work, but it won’t take long to make her a good kid’s horse. She has been ridden by Throwaway Ponies’ young teen riders who have experience. She has not given them any trouble – just needs to learn cues.
Throwaway Ponies is a nonprofit horse rescue and therapeutic riding facility located at 2368 E. FM 552 in Rockwall, just two miles east of Highway 205. It is an all volunteer organization.
They currently have 70 horses, mules and donkeys – most of whom are ready and available for adoption. There are companion-only horses, horses needing to be trained, and some ready for you to ride into the sunset.
Twice a month, Blue Ribbon News features adoptable horses like Sassy from Throwaway Ponies.
