UPDATE – April 1, 2013 – Raven, our very first Throwaway Ponies Adoption Spotlight, has been ADOPTED!
ORIGINAL STORY
Meet Raven, a 16-year-old dark bay Thoroughbred mare. She loves to trot and would make a great horse for a teenage girl. She has always been well cared for and was formerly a trail horse. Her family just quit riding, so they donated her to Throwaway Ponies.
Throwaway Ponies is a nonprofit horse rescue and therapeutic riding facility located at 2368 E. FM 552 in Rockwall, just two miles east of Highway 205. It is an all volunteer organization.
They currently have 70 horses, mules and donkeys – most of whom are ready and available for adoption. There are companion-only horses, horses needing to be trained, and some ready for you to ride into the sunset.
Twice a month, Blue Ribbon News features adoptable horses like Raven from Throwaway Ponies.
