(ROCKWALL-April 7, 2013) For her sixth grade service project, Anna Hibbs of Grace Hartman Elementary is collecting canned goods, flour, sugar, oil, peanut butter, jelly, canned meats and Hamburger Helper to help fill the food pantry shelves at Rockwall County Helping Hands.

Jeremy Shanks, manager at Brookshires in Rockwall, has allowed Anna to set up a collection area in the store, where donors may contribute to the cause.

Anna will be collecting donations at Brookshires in the Ridge Road Shopping Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 13; and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 27.

“I want to thank everyone for their donations,” said Anna. “Mr. Shanks has been very kind and supportive. This is a store that truly cares about our community and the children in our area.”

Anna’s food drive continues through May 23. Those who wish to donate but cannot come by Brookshires at the scheduled times, may call 214-649-5497 to make arrangements.

“After the holidays the food banks run low on food,” said Anna. “Together we can make a difference in others’ lives.”
