(ROCKWALL-May 9, 2013) The Metro East Division of The Greater Dallas Homebuilders Association and Rods and Relics of Dallas are gearing up for the return of the annual Cars for CASA car, truck and motorcycle show Sunday, May 19 at The Harbor in Rockwall, benefiting Lone Star CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates).
First and second place awards will be presented for cars in 21 categories; for trucks in five categories; and for motorcycles in six categories. There will also be awards also for Best of Show, and a club participation award.
Spectators will enjoy door prizes, a food court and music and a spectacular display of vehicles.
Last year’s event featured more than 350 show cars and motorcycles, and welcomed about 3,000 spectators. There was a wide variety of cars and motorcycles on hand ranging from the classics (’55 Chevys, vintage Corvettes) to off the chart Street Rods and even late model exotics such as Ferraris and Lamborghinis. The event raised $44,418 – up dramatically from $24,569 in 2011. A goal has been to set to raise over $50,000 for CASA in 2013.
The mission of Lone Star CASA is to provide trained community volunteers to advocate for the best interests of children in Rockwall and Kaufman Counties who come into the court system primarily as a result of abuse or neglect.
