(Rockwall ISD) May 29, 2013 – Celia Hays Elementary fourth grade student Mackenzie Laughery was chosen as the winner of the Memorial Day Essay contest held by Resthaven Funeral Home in Rockwall.
Mackenzie’s essay was chosen out of many entries received from across the school district. Mackenzie and her teachers were recognized at a special memorial day ceremony and Resthaven donated $200 to the Celia Hays Library in honor of Mackenzie’s accomplishments.
