When Rockwall Pets rescued Checkers from the Dallas animal shelter, his right eye was fully outside its socket. It was the aftermath of a vicious attack when Checkers was ambushed by angry dogs.
Dr. Keith Webb at Pet Doctor in Rockwall came up with an ingenious solution. He treated the eye with honey, which caused the eyeball to contract. Once the swollen eye returned to its normal size, Dr. Webb simply popped it back into its socket. His eye may look red as it continues to heal, but Checkers is as good as new. In spite of the ordeal he’s been through, this little dog is patient, sweet, calm and unbelievably cute.
