THE FOREIGNER
by Larry Shue A fishing lodge in ruralGeorgiais often visited by “Froggy” LeSeuer, a British demolition expert who occasionally runs training sessions at a nearby army base. This time “Froggy” has brought along a friend, a pathologically shy young man named Charlie who is overcome with fear at the thought of making conversation with strangers. So “Froggy,” before departing, tells all assembled that Charlie is from an exotic foreign country and speaks no English. Once alone the fun really begins, as Charlie overhears more than he should! The non-stop hilarity of the play sets up the wildly funny climax in which things go uproariously awry for the “bad guys,” and the “good guys” emerge triumphant. FOREVER PLAID
Written and Originally Directed and Choreographed by Stuart Ross This deliciously goofy revue centers on four young, eager male singers killed in a car crash in the 1950’s on the way to their first big concert, and now revived for the posthumous chance to fulfill their dreams and perform the show that never was. Singing in the closest of harmony, squabbling boyishly over the smallest intonations and executing their charmingly outland-ish choreography with over-zealous precision, the “Plaids” are a guaranteed smash, with a program of beloved songs and delightful patter that keeps audiences rolling in the aisles. STEEL MAGNOLIAS
is set in Truvy’s beauty salon where all the ladies who are “anybody” come to have their hair done. Join us as we spend time with Annelle who is not sure whether or not she is still married, Truvy who dispenses sham-poos and free advice to the town’s rich curmudgeon, Ouiser; an eccentric millionaire, Miss Clairee; and the local social leader, M’Lynn, whose daughter, Shelby, is about to marry a “good ole boy.” The sudden realization of their mortality affects them all, but also draws on the underlying strength—and love—which give the play, and its characters, the spe-cial quality to make them truly touching, funny and marvelously amiable company in good times and bad.
