Members of Rockwall County 4-H prepare for Texas 4-H Roundup

(Rockwall County) June 10, 2013 – Senior 4-H members Naomi Romero, Bradley Simpson and Rachel Simpson are preparing to travel to Texas 4-H Roundup to compete in the State Consumer Decision Making Contest. It will be held Wednesday, June 12 on the campus of Texas A&M University.

They will be competing against 23 other teams from across the state in the Consumer Decision Making event. The team has had a successful year competing together. They kicked off the contest year by placing 2nd at the District Consumer Decision Making Contest at Texas A&M Commerce. That placing qualified them for the honor of competing at Texas 4-H Roundup this week.

The team also represented Rockwall County at the San Antonio Livestock Show in February and placed 4th out of 51 teams.

Bradley was 1st High Individual out of 165 contestants. For this he was the recipient of a trophy belt buckle and a $10,000 scholarship!

An Intermediate team also competed in San Antonio consisting of Trevor Rowe, Reece Simpson, Emily Ullom and Ryan Ullom.

They placed 3rd out of 29 teams.
