(Rockwall) June 30, 2013 –Jack Palmer has always loved taking pictures of his surroundings: places, objects and people. At age 9, he began capturing images of the world around him. In 2007, he turned his passion into a profession.

From architectural, commercial, event and corporate photography to awe-inspiring landscape shots, many of Jack’s photographs document the history of North Texastowns – especially the Rockwall area. His work can be seen adorning the walls of the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce, on company websites and brochures, and most recently, on display at the new Rockwall County Courthouse. We’re also featuring his work on the cover of our July/August print edition.

WHAT ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT?

My Christian faith, family and photography. I like to capture various aspects of the world around us that are gradually becoming things of the past: old structures, buildings, cars, tools. I have a high regard for history and tradition, and I want to preserve the memories by using my camera as a medium. I want my pictures to tell stories and to provoke a reflection on transience of life. I would also love to travel to shoot more fall and winter photos.

TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS.

A lot of what I do is website/Facebook marketing photos for local companies, architectural photos and commercial work. Small and large businesses seek out high-quality images to attract new customers. I’ve shot for Shenaniganz, Allure, the City of Rockwall, Royse City and Fate, hotels and auto dealerships, to name a few. I also take family and student portraits.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR FAMILY.

I have four sons and three grandchildren. My wonderful wife, Dorota, is also my photography assistant. I love family and my family of origin – genealogy is important.

SUM UP WHY YOU DO WHAT YOU DO.

I am a true supporter of Rockwall and nearby towns. I want to provide images of our hometown that people are proud to share and send to family and friends outside the community. I am very thankful for my business clients, and I find joy in supporting them through my photos.
