(Rockwall) June 18, 2013 – The Rockwall-Heath High School cheerleaders and mascots brought home several awards from summer camp, sponsored by the National Cheerleaders Association. The camp was held at Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth from June 10-13.
All RHHS cheer squads were awarded a technical excellence award for jumps and stunts.
All RHHS cheerleaders and mascots were nominated for All-American Cheerleader/Mascot.
Additional awards included Varsity – Superior ribbons for Chant, Cheer and Spirit Stick; Junior Varsity- 1st place in Champion Chant, 1st place in Performance, Superior ribbons, Spirit Stick; Freshmen – 1st place in Champion Chant, Superior ribbons, Spirit Stick.
The All-American Cheerleaders Award, which is given to a cheerleader who competes against a scored standard in jumps, tumbling, spirit and cheer performance, went to:
Varsity – Jacqueline Doughty and Kaley Stewart.
Kaley Stewart also received the Top All American cheerleader—an award given to the All American cheerleader with the highest points amongst all the ALL American cheerleaders present at the camp.
Varsity Seniors Kaley Stewart , Jacqueline Doughty and mascot Mariah Pranschke received NCA Invitations, which is an award given to seniors offering an invitation to try out to become part of the NCA staff.
JV—All American cheerleaders: Kelsey Dvorak, Becka Malone, Katy Shipley, Shelbi Spruill, Ashley Surber, Mikki Westmoreland.
Freshman All American cheerleaders: Amberlee Soto and Madeline Clark.
Mascot All American: Mariah Pranschke, Ashleigh Casstevens, Travis Pranschke.
Mascots received multiple awards for their Pep Rally skit, Introduction skit, All American skit, and Pantomime.
Travis Pranschke received Most Spirited Award.
