Rowlett Lions honor Rowlett High grads with scholarships

(Rowlett) June 12, 2013 – The Rowlett Lions Club selected five outstanding candidates to receive merit scholarships of $1,000 each to continue their studies in college and further education. These young adults have distinguished themselves through their passionate commitment in their education, in their communities, and in their careers. Congratulations to Emily Rasberry, Madelynn Willis, Ashley DeLeon, Myles Young, and Nathan Winn.

Graduates are chosen not only for their outstanding scholarly achievements, but for their character, commitment to others and to the common good, and for their potential for leadership in whatever domains their careers may lead.

The Rowlett Lions Club has been a generous supporter of local and state charities since its inception in 1966.  Over 90% of everything raised goes to organizations such as The Children’s Hospital of Dallas, The Salvation Army, The Scottish Rite, and The Rowlett Needy Children’s Fund just to name a few.
