Wylie East Sapphires officers, social officers win big at camp

(Wylie) June 20, 2013 – Members of the Wylie East High School Sapphires recently returned home from HTE Officer Training Camp with many outstanding awards, several new routines, and a lot of great ideas for the upcoming school year.

The officers won a spirit stick, a discipline award, and a creative choreography award. The social officers won a spirit stick for a day as well as for the week, and a creativity award.

Ashlenn Wellbrock and Audrey Jones were accepted in HTE’s exclusive Dance Academy, and Ashlenn Wellbrock and Billie Watson were accepted into the equally exclusive Kick Academy.

Audrey Jones was invited by the HTE staff to audition to become a staff member at the end of this school year.

“Congratulations to each of them for these fabulous accomplishments! I am so very proud of the officers and social officers and look forward to working with the rest of the team starting next week,” wrote Drill Team Director Brittany Sleutz Miller.
