City of Rowlett’s annual Photography Contest underway

Contest open to everyone in Lake Ray Hubbard area

(Rowlett) July 29, 2013 – The City of Rowlett and The Arts and Humanities Commission announce the 2013 Photography Contest, with a theme of “Rowlett the Beautiful.”

Categories include:

1.  People – children, students, politicians, citizens, etc.

2.  Places – lake, library, community center, buildings, DART, Bush Turnpike, etc.

3.  Things – boats, automobiles, artwork, nature, bridges, etc.

 Awards

First Place in each category – $75
Best of Show – $150

Guidelines

No more than 3 entries per person.

Photos must have been taken within one year of contest deadline.

Entries must be 8” x 10” – ONLY.

Entries should be matted on black – NO FRAMED PHOTOS ACCEPTED.

Entries may be color or black and white.

Each photo must have an entry form taped to the back.

All entries will be on display at the Rowlett Public Library from September 7th through October 12th.  First Place and Best of Show winners will be presented their award checks at the Tuesday, October 15th City Council Meeting.

Entries will be accepted at the Rowlett Public Library on Saturday, September 7th from 10 a.m. to noon.

Entries will need to be picked up from the Library on Saturday, October 12th between 10 a.m. and noon.

The photo contest is open to everyone in the Lake Ray Hubbard area – professionals, amateurs, people of all ages. A panel of judges from Texas A&M Commerce will adjudicate this year.
