(Rockwall) July 1, 2013 – Team Tobacco Box may have tried to smoke the competition, but several teams were hot on their trail at the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce’s Rockwall Open Caddyshack Golf Tournament. Congratulations to first place finishers Bill Heard, Bo Hartline, Donnie Gray and Harvey Rippy.
More than 30 teams competed in the Chamber’s annual fundraising event, which was held June 28 at Rockwall Golf and Athletic Club.
Nearly 150 guests filled the patio at Nineteen for the pre-tournament par-tee and auction, benefiting the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce.
The Rub performed live and Gary Freedman served as auctioneer.
Team American National Bank came in second place, with golfers Stewart Storms, Blake James, Steve Reid and Jason Johnston.
The Branch Law Firm captured third place, thanks to the efforts of Trey Mannis, Carolos Dela Santos, Nick Ziebell and Teal Willis.
Taking the “Dead Ass Last” Award was Team Resourcing Edge, comprised of Mark Selby, Randy Dotson, Chris Hurst and Tim Cypert.
The longest drive winner was Jay Humphrey from Team BB&T. Blake James, Team American National Bank, won Closest to the Pin.
Liz Beauchamp won the Fantasy Golf Card scratch-off contest.
“Thanks to everyone who helped make the 21st Annual Rockwall Golf open a huge success,” said Chamber president Dana Macalik.
“With 144 players, numerous volunteers and the support of our highly valued sponsors and contributors, the 2013 Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce is able to host a most fun golfing event! The funds donated by our generous sponsors and the volunteer efforts of those who organized and supported this successful tournament will enable us to bring future events and programs to our valued partners,” Macalik said.
