Rockwall Reading For Adults program to host tutor training

(ROCKWALL – September 27, 2013) The Rockwall County Library Literacy Program, Reading For Adults, will hold a training session for new tutors. RFA has been serving Rockwall County for over 13 years, providing free educational classes to community adults. The program offers classes in ESL (English as a Second Language), GED, Citizenship and Adult Literacy. The tutors are local volunteers, from varying career sectors.

A Tutor Training session is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, October 19th. The session will be held in the large Meeting Room at the Rockwall County Library, located at 1215 E. Yellowjacket in Rockwall. The session will include a lunch break – participants should bring a sack lunch.

Tutors must be at least 19 years old. Teaching experience is not required, but all tutors must attend a training session.
