(ROCKWALL – October 15, 2013) The October Brown Bag “Talking Tombstones” program presented by RCHF members Gary Lovell and Mindy Lovell featured history of Chisholm Cemetery as well as names of early pioneers of the Village of Chisholm buried there. Mr. Lovell stated that he is related to about 85 of those who are interred in the cemetery. Mrs. Lovell shared a moving story of the life and activities of Molly Wafford who served the community as a mid-wife for many years.
The November RCHF Brown Bag meeting will be held on November 8 at noon at the historic downtown Courthouse. The program will be a video of a recent lecture presented by James Leavelle in Rockwall. Mr. Leavelle was handcuffed to Lee Harvey Oswald at the moment in history when Jack Ruby shot him after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, in Dallas fifty years ago. The lecture received rave reviews and the Foundation is pleased to be able to make it available to those who were not able to see it when originally presented in September. The public is invited to attend the free Brown Bag meetings.
