Nebbie Williams celebrates fathers with special Dads & Kids event

Dad event 9 24 13 Simmons — Zacharie & Tierre Simmons

(ROCKWALL ISD – October 1, 2013) More than 100 kids and 75 dads built sailboats, toy cars and dragons from workshop kits donated by Home Depot and Lowes during a special Dads & Kids event Sept. 24 at Nebbie Williams Elementary.

Fathers also enjoyed a little friendly competition in a Battle of the Dads dodge ball game.

“The event was designed to celebrate fatherhood, and involved fathers bring positive benefits to their children,” said Tiffany Simmons, event coordinator.

Food and beverages were donated by Dominos, Chicken Express, Tom Thumb and Sonic. Prizes were donated by In-N-Out Burger, Toyota of Rockwall and Sports Authority.
