(ROCKWALL – October 11, 2013) Rockwall’s Original Pumpkin Patch is celebrating its 25th year!

The Patch is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily through Oct. 31. It is located at the Ridge Road Shopping Center, 1201 Ridge Road, sometimes referred to as the Brookshire’s Shopping Center.

Pumpkin Patch handcrafted figures appear to rise out of the groundcover to wave a ghostly hello.

Original design lawn art and a wide variety of seasonal decorating items will be for sale.

Pumpkins of all varieties, gourds, squashes, straw bales and cornstalks, and a variety of mums will be available. In mid-October colorful pansies will arrive.

Delicious deli items made by members of the sponsoring groups are excellent appetizers for fall entertaining and also make wonderful gifts for friends and neighbors.

An exciting lineup of children’s activities is scheduled for each Saturday. Children and adults will enjoy story times, crafts and face painting. Special entertainment will begin every Saturday at noon. There is never an admission charge. Families are welcome to come browse and take advantage of the many photo opportunities.

Among the special Saturday activities are: the Rockwall Children’s Chorus, Bill Watts-Storyteller, and performers from Rockwall Summer Musicals. A schedule of all children’s activities as well as other information is available at the Pumpkin Patch website.

Volunteers are still needed for shift work. Interested persons may sign up online at rockwallpumpkinpatch.com.

For more information, email or contact Bill Watts at 214-207-5073.

Rockwall’s Original Pumpkin Patch is a nonprofit all-volunteer community effort and all proceeds benefit local projects of the Rockwall County Library and Council of Catholic Women or Our Lady of the Lake.
