ROCKWALL (November 6, 2013) The “Signing Stars” from the Coventry Reserve in Wylie will be at First Christian Church Rockwall on Sunday, November 17 at the 11 a.m. worship service. The group performs songs in sign language at various churches, and at other community events. They will sign two songs and will also bring a display of their pottery that has been made by the residents of the center and it will be for sale.
Their one-of-a-kind hand crafted pottery, specialty ceramics, and unique seasonal items make great gifts or personal decorations. Coventry participants enjoy the pride of making this unique pottery and the sales of the products go directly back into the program.
“Coventry presents a distinctive day program for adults with special needs that provides life enrichment opportunities, creative activities and therapeutic programming. Our participants continue to discover, while staying active intellectually, mentally, physically, socially and emotionally. We believe that adults with disabilities are capable of living a very full, active and productive life when provided with appropriate and consistent opportunities in combination with positive reinforcement and surroundings that allow for social interaction.”
First Christian Church invites the public to come on November 17 to meet our guests, enjoy their songs, and help support their program. We are located at 3375 Ridge Road, 1.4 mile south of I-30. For more information, call the church office at 972-771-5526.
