Meals on Wheels seeks community help to feed seniors

ROCKWALL (November 25, 2013) Rockwall County Meals on Wheels Senior Services recently sent out letters to 8,000 people asking for help from the community. MOWSS is a non-profit organization that counts on its volunteers and support from companies and individuals in Rockwall County. They distribute 45,000 meals per year to seniors who may, otherwise, go hungry.

In many cases the volunteer who brings the meal is the only human contact these elderly have. The program allows seniors to live independently longer.  That saves taxpayers money by not moving them in to government funded facilities.

Feed a senior for a week for just $32, $128 for a month, and an entire year for $1,536. Any amount you donate is vital to the seniors of Rockwall County.  You can donate now or at anytime through a secure PayPal site at rockwallmealsonwheels.org.
